I grew up in an Anglican family in South India, so I was surrounded by God and the church from the very beginning. Although I was raised in a Christian home, I just went through the motions of doing “Christian things” that I thought you were supposed to do. In my teens, I started to drift away from faith because the people around me who went to church were not really following Jesus.

When I came to UK, I lost my way and started to live a life according to my own morals with the aim of being accepted by others. This didn’t work and I began to search for meaning to my life. When I turned 25, I was at my lowest point feeling alone and afraid with a hard heart. It was then that God drew me to Himself. He prompted me to read the Bible and to my surprise all the answers I was looking were there. With the help and guidance of a godly Pastor, I confessed my sins to Jesus and accepted Jesus as my Saviour and Lord. That whole day was so magical, I found an amazing peace which I have till now and God changed my heart, the hard heart is gone for good and feel like a new being. He has given me fulfilment and purpose and joy.

I am not perfect and I still mess up, but I know God loves me despite my flaws and imperfections. Before, the things I was pursuing let me down but God has never done that. God loved me even at my lowest point, showed me that I do not have to earn my salvation and rescued me from myself and eternal separation from Him.

Since joining Braintree Baptist Church, I am excited to have become a part of the team going door to door which is helping me to grow.
